Position Overview
This is an exciting role for a qualified Geotechnical Consultant Engineer with a background in civil or geotechnical engineering. Offshore experience is valued but not mandatory and the ideal candidate will have a Chartered Engineer status. Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise in geotechnical design and engineering. You will be expected to contribute to the following key areas:
- Lead or contribute to the design and analysis of geotechnical constructions, including foundations and ground treatments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the development of infrastructure, energy, environmental and city solutions.
- Manage and coordinate geotechnical aspects of projects, working closely with other departments and external stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for technical delivery, ensuring that projects meet the required standards, deadlines and budgets.
- Provide support in project management and the development of new business opportunities within the geotechnical sector.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong background in geotechnical or civil engineering.
- Professional Status: Chartered Engineer status is essential.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced technical skills in geotechnical design, particularly in foundation engineering and other related constructions.
- Independence: The ability to work independently, with aspirations to lead and establish a team in the future.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate across disciplines and geographies.
Desirable Skills and Experience
While not essential, candidates with experience in the following areas will have an added advantage:
- Piling in Challenging Ground Conditions: Expertise in designing piles in Chalk and Glacial Till.
- Offshore Design: Familiarity with offshore design, particularly in wind farms and port infrastructure, is a bonus.
- Railway Projects: Experience with railway, depot and station design.
- Embankments and Cuttings: Proficiency in the design of embankments and cuttings for various projects.
- Ground Treatment: Knowledge of ground improvement techniques and practices.
