Good news: On November 16, 2022, the Canadian immigration system will grant work permits to workers who offer essential services. Below is a list of Professionals eligible for work permits
- Butchers – retail and wholesale
- Agricultural service contractors & farm supervisor
- Nursery and greenhouse labourers
- Labourers in food and beverage processing
- Labourers in fish and seafood processing
- Registered nurses
- Nursing coordinator and supervisor
- Specialist in surgery
Requirements Needed To Apply For The Visa
- Two passport photographs (signed and dated at the back)
- Proof of Immigration Status (Only applicable if the country of residence is different from the country of origin)
- A photocopy of the following documents: National Passport
- Marriage certificate
- Educational Credentials
- Proof of relationship with all spouses, children, or common-law partners
- Professional Resume
- Original Police clearance certificate
- Fingerprints and biometric details (only applicable if you’re applying from outside Canada)
- Proof of employment (at current place of work)
- Completed Application for Work Permit made outside of Canada
- Evidence that you meet the requirements for your prospective job
- Completed Document Checklist (IMM 5488)
- Completed Schedule 1 – Application for Temporary Resident Visa form.
Processing this Work Permit takes about 5-36 weeks; the time range may be deferred depending on specific circumstances. A closed Canadian work permit costs a processing fee of CAD 155 per person, and an additional fee of CAD 100 is required if you’re applying for an open work permit.
