The Ontario Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is another opportunity for immigrants who want to move to the region. The program is known as the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program[ONIP], and it allows the immigration authorities to nominate candidates in the Express Entry pool who can speak French and English for immigration.
Those selected from the ONIP program will be expected to apply for a permanent residence permit. The Express Entry Program is an online system introduced by the Canadian Government to manage immigration applications from skilled workers to the country.
The three programs under Express Entry are:
- Canadian Experience Class: This is for skilled workers with more than three years of experience in Canada. Click here to read more.
- Federal Skilled Worker Program: This is for those with foreign work experience. Those in this category must meet the educational and other requirements. - Federal Skilled Trade Program: This program is designed for skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade and have a valid job offer. Eligibility For The Ontario Entry French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
To be eligible for the program, interested persons are expected to possess the following:
- Must intend to live in Ontario after being granted a visa
- Must have enough funds to support yourself and your family during your stay
- Must be fluent in speaking and writing English at a Canadian Language Benchmark and French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher. You can prove this by presenting either of the following: For English[Note only the general test will be accepted]: International English Language Testing (IELTS) and Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)
- For French: Test d’évaluation de français pour le Canada (TEF) and Test de connaissance du français pour le Canada (TCF Canada)
- Must have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree
- Must choose to be accessed from any of the following programs: Federal Skilled Workers Program and Canadian Experience Class
- An Express Entry profile
How To Apply For The ONIP Stream
There are two ways by which one can apply for the program. The application cost is $1,500; the only accepted cards are Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, and Mastercard Debit. The generally accepted ways of applying include:
- By using a representative: Here, you will have to appoint a representative with a registered profile to complete the registration for you.
- Submitting an Online Application: If you have all the required documents, visit the registration portal to apply for the program immediately.
